28/03 - 25 @ home, lazy shooting.
30/03 - 25 @ indoor 3D scored a 310 out of a possible 500, not bad but still plenty to do.
02/04 - Outdoor shoot, 55 arrows. It was a nice relaxed round for Toby's birthday, we shot in a group of 8, everyone was on a single string bow except one and there was a lot of banter and laughs. Many trees were hit and targets were missed. I shot OK, nothing to write home about, I shot better when I stopped being lazy and was conscious of my form...funny that.
03/04 - 35 arrows @ home. I set up cones at the start and finish distances of all 5 groups to see if that is beneficial when it comes to shooting comp.
04/04 - 45 arrows @ home
05/04 - 50 arrows @ home
06/04 - 25 arrows @ indoor, old mate D is kicking my arse every week, it's a good thing so I call it motivation to have a go instead of just throw a lazy couple of arrows down range.
08/04 - 51 arrows @ outdoor, LB and I were the only starters and it was a nice few hours on the Easter long weekend. The second target in was a disaster, at about 18 metres we both missed it with three arrows, thankfully the day got better.
I've noticed my string is starting to fray at the limb end loop, at closer inspection there was a high spot or 'ridge' in the string groove, I hit it with some fine sandpaper and swapped out the string. I ordered some B55 string material to make a few spares, I've done this before but it will be a YouTube revisit to freshen up the memory banks. For this reason and the onset of Autumn proper and the rain, I've had a few days off training but the State 3D titles at Drouin in just over two weeks are on my mind so I'll be hopefully be hitting the range over the weekend.I didn't.....
27/04 - 24 arrows @ Indoor. IFAA Field first up, not shooting at all in over two weeks showed in my scores. Was a good opportunity to get the new string shot in a bit to get the stretch out of it before the States in a week.
29/04 - 48 arrows @ Indoor full day 3D competition. It was a fun day with a heap of banter and laughs.
I shot with DM and what a tussle it was. I pipped him at the post with a 6 point win and was generally very happy with the overall score of 552, if I can pull a score like that in Drouin, I'll be happy.
The pressure was real though and the tension made for some great back and forth knowing one missed shot meant it was all over. Great to have another longbow shooter on deck.
I broke another tip off in the leg of a target on the steel frame and yet another fletch. I have some gluing to do this week.
Anywhere in the animal is a score they said....hehe
